Client: Parkdale Tennis Club
Project Type: New entrance comprising of large veranda and decking
Project Size: 90sqm of deck over 2 levels and steel structure
Project Budget: $150k
Project Duration: February 2018 – April 2018
The Parkdale Tennis Club have been in desperate need for an upgrade of their main entrance and viewing areas after a recent upgrade of 3 show courts. More Building Group were selected as the commercial builder to assist with the design challenges in order to achieve a desirable outcome according to presentation, budget and future plans for the club. The result was the construction of a large new decked area with staircase to the lower courts, a much larger veranda roof and a complete glazed balustrade system to allow for a clear visual from within the pavilion out onto the courts.
The construction presented many engineering challenges that our director Jason Mortimore resolved in close consultation with the engineers and architects in order to achieve an outcome that met the project brief and budget. A series of screw piles with concrete ground beams were used to support the deck and veranda structure. Weeks of work that now cannot be seen but provide for a very stable base. The decking boards selected are a composite board which provide a maintenance free solution and the glazed balustrade provide the perfect vantage point for viewing the action on the courts.
During the construction, More Building Group became a proud sponsor of the club and is looking forward to being involved in it’s future growth. The area has now been completed and can be viewed upon request.
